About Tri-Cities Airport
Tri-Cities Airport is currently known as a commercial airport. This airport is located soundly within the South Central region of Washington State in the Northwestern part of the United States. Tri-Cities Airport features major airlines such as Allegiant Air, Delta and even Horizon Air and comfortable restaurants take in weary travelers whether they are departing or arriving. Tri-Cities Airport is also conveniently located some seven to eight miles from Richland and it is the third largest airport in the state of Washington. The Airport is located nearly two to three miles from Pasco in Franklin County. Tri-Cities Airport is also very historical. It was the first to make flights from Pasco, Washington to Elko Nevada around 1926. This was while it was on its original sight. The Airport was eventually moved from its former spot and for a while it was known as Franklin County Airport. During World War Two, Naval Air Station Pasco was built by the United States Navy and after the war ended the field was sold to the city of Pasco (although the navy still keeps some privileges). The Port of Pasco took over it and built a new Terminal Building in 1966. The Tri-Cities Airport has a grand total of three runway makeups: general aviation, primary and cross wind. Besides the commercial airlines Tri-Cities Airport also has: an all-weather runway, Onsite Airport Rescue Firefighting, air cargo services and even a crosswind runway. For all of the flights it is mandated that all passengers should arrive at least 90 minutes before their flights are scheduled for takeoff. The terminal hours of the Tri-Cities Airport are from 3:30 in the morning until 1:00 in the morning leaving the terminal closed for only the temporary amount of two and a half hours.
