Los Angeles International Airport, also known as LAX, is the largest airport in California and one of the largest in the United States. In fact, it is considered the 7th busiest airport in the whole world and the 3rd busiest in the United States based on passenger flow! It is located near the beach in the Hawthorne area of Los Angeles, so when you fly out of this airport in the daytime, you get a beautiful view of the Los Angeles beaches and the waves on the shores. Los Angeles International Airport was built in 1929 and began operating in 1930. In 1941, it became an international airport. The airport now has a total of 9 terminals including the Tom Bradley International terminal. There is a lot of planned modernization for the Los Angeles International Airport, including projects like a terminal train, large aircraft gates, a new central terminal processor, and a new satellite concourse. Los Angeles International Airport is open 24 hours a day and there are car rental agencies, airport shuttles, taxis, and other forms of transportation available right outside the entrance. It is very easy to access and leave the airport and there is plenty of paid parking available in the parking garage right in front of the entries. This airport has duty free shopping available, restaurants, cafes, and bars, and there is a special raised rotating restaurant there too. Airport security is very strict and numerous at this airport so it is necessary to arrive at least 2 hours before your flight departure regardless of international or domestic flights
