The George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) serves more than 40 million passengers annually. It is the main base for Continental Airlines. It is a modern airport serving local, continental, and international traffic. IAH has been in operation for about 40 years. Houston Intercontinental Airport, as it was known when it first opened its doors, was opened in June of 1969 by a group of Houston businessmen. It has grown dramatically over the years.
