Friday Harbour Airport is located in the San Juan Islands, Washington State. With its single 3400 foot 16/34 runway accepting right hand traffic the Friday Harbour Airport serves all the aviation requirements of the San Juan Islands of over 150 flights per day. With 123 aircraft based at the airport, there is also space for 45 guest aircrafts so amateur aviators are also welcome to touch down for a while and enjoy the hospitality of the Islands. Parking is only $5 for the day, but you need to bring your own ropes and chocks as it can get extremely windy on the Islands. Named after the founder of the Island Skye Ferries, the Roy Franklin Terminal now serves over 16,000 passengers every year. With the Kenmore Air and the San Juan Airlines operating out of the airport there are now regular flights to Seattle, Bellingham and Anacortes as well as many smaller charter companies giving access to the rest of the San Juan Islands. The Friday Harbour Airport has good transport links with only a 5 minute walk from town and to the marina, shuttle buses run to Roche Harbour and around the rest of the Island. Taxis and car rentals are also both available. For a better look around the Friday Harbour Airport take the Clark McAlpine walking trail, set up by the San Juan Islands Trails Committee that follows a narrow path through airport property and through the woods.
